The IHP Citizen Science Working Meeting on Output 1.10 of IHP IX Phase was organized on 24th April. Representatives of the WSDAC Center, Dr. Brankica Majkić-Dursun and Dr. Vesna Tripković, participated in the meeting. As part of Priority Area 1, Output 1.10, the meeting participants were presented with initial work on establishing an online Platform for data exchange, projects, and tools related to Citizen Science in hydrology. The meeting participants were introduced to the Citizen4Science project, and the Platform was formed.
This Citizen4Science project entails the development of a global inventory of citizen science initiatives in hydrology and water management in the context of the Intergovernmental Hydrological Programme (IHP) of UNESCO. The repository will (a) facilitate researchers and project initiators to develop new or optimize current citizen science projects in hydrology and water management, (b) identify gaps in current citizen science water management practices and (c) allow policy makers to consolidate knowledge from relevant existing citizen science projects from around the world.
