Participation in International Water Forum, Daegu, South Korea, 20‐23. October 2014.

Representatives of the “Jaroslav Černi” Institute for the Development of Water Resources and the University of Novi Sad, participated in the International Water Forum, which took place from October 20th to 23rd in the South Korean cities of Daegu and Gyeongju City. The Forum was a part of the 3rd Nakdong River International Water Week 2014 event.

The introductory part of the International Water Forum meeting included lectures presented by special invited speakers, Mr. Milan Dimkić, PhD, CEO of the “Jaroslav Černi” Institute and professor at the Novi Sad Faculty of Technical Sciences, who gave a lecture on Water Management Challenges in Transition Countries, as well as Mr. Miroslav Vesković, PhD, rector of the University of Novi Sad, whose presentation was titled Scientific Support to the European Union Strategy for the Danube Region. Mr. Prvoslav Marjanović, PhD, from the “Jaroslav Černi” Institute, was a
participant in the High Panel Conference on Water for Our Future and a panel member of the Water Experts Panel on Adaptation and Challenges to Change, which also included a lecture on Unique Physicochemical Characteristics of Emerging Substances, presented by yet another professor from the Novi Sad Faculty of Technical Sciences, Ms Mirjana Vojinović‐Miloradov, PhD.

The event was organized under the auspices of the World Water Council, as a part of the
preparations for the 7th World Water Forum, which is to take place in April of 2015, in Daegu.
